About
A deep exploration of faith and doubt, this poem reflects the universal struggle with spiritual questioning during difficult times. It highlights the experience of calling out for guidance but feeling unanswered, only to eventually come to terms with the fact that the answers may not be forthcoming. It's about the internal battle between hope and silence.
Poem
Dear Lord:
Thank You for Your love,
Thank You for holding me,
"For You are with me" (Psalm 23:4),
And "Your mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22).
Dear God:
I struggle and feel torn,
But "I can do all things" (Philippians 4:13),
If you guide me, for I am worn.
Dear Jehovah:
I still wait on Your call.
I still seek the light ahead.
"Why have You forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46)
When all my hope feels dead?
Dear Yahweh:
"You are my refuge, my strength" (Psalm 46:1),
Yet my heart begins to ache.
“Show me a sign for good" (Psalm 86:17),
Or my soul may surely break.
Dear Elohim:
"I believe, help my unbelief" (Mark 9:24),
I study Your Word and plea,
But silence is what I receive.
How long will You ignore me?
I understand now.
My faith has worn thin.
I whisper to the sky.
I’ve been talking to myself all along.

When all my hope feels dead?
Wow my hope feels dead.

Dear Adoni
This is my last lament because
I’ve been talking to myself all along.
